Katmai Oncology Group recognizes the impact of cancer on our patients and families. We offer supportive services to help ease the cancer experience, to reduce your stress and improve your health care experience.

Our Multi-Disciplinary Team includes:

• Oncology nurses
• Financial counselors
• Oncology-certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker
• Advanced Nurse Practitioners (counseling and palliative care services)

We help our patients through all phases of cancer. Including:

• Accessing information to assist in understanding diagnosis and treatment.
• Coping with life with cancer while balancing every day work and family demands.
• Understanding insurance coverage and benefits.
• Referring patients to community resources, assisting in finding affordable prescription coverage and finding help at home.
• Planning for patient care with the use of Advance Directives.
• Counseling and support for our patients and their families.

Other services we offer include using National Cancer Institute’s guidelines for navigation and coordination of care.

• Coordinating appointments with providers to ensure timely delivery of diagnostic and treatment services.
• Maintaining communication with patients, survivors, families, and the health care providers to monitor patient satisfaction with the cancer care experience.
• Ensuring that appropriate medical records are available at scheduled appointments.
• Arranging language translation or interpretation services.
• Facilitating financial support and helping with paperwork.
• Assisting with arranging transportation and/or child/elder care.
• Facilitating linkages to follow-up services.
• Community outreach.
• Providing access to clinical trials.
• Building partnerships with local agencies and groups (e.g., referrals to other services and/or cancer survivor support groups).
